He set up shop at Huntington Beach RV Park in his Thor Motor Coach Quantum Class C. Even better? His offensive coordinator Greg Roman is also living at the RV park in his Newmar Ventana Class A RV. The Chargers Instagram account recently posted a video of the two coaches giving tours of their RVs, and we’re sharing all the details.

In the video shared by the Chargers, Jim Harbaugh says his RV life was inspired by growing up watching “The Rockford Files.” The show originally aired in the 1970s starring James Garner as Jim Rockford, a private investigator who lived in a mobile home parked on the beach in Malibu, California. While not technically an RV in the traditional sense, Rockford’s mobile home served as his primary residence and office. The show’s portrayal of Rockford’s unconventional living arrangement has since become iconic and is often associated with the idea of living a free-spirited and adventurous lifestyle, much like that of RVers. Coach Harbaugh even shows viewers a DVD of the show he watches in his RV!
NFL Coaches Living The RV Life
In the video, Harbaugh and Roman riff about the unique aspects of this lifestyle. They talk about how the best night of sleep happens when you hear the rain hitting the roof of your RV.
