Mekkelsen RV Sales and Rentals

Welcome to Mekkelsen RV Sales and Rentals

For 50 years the family owned and operated Mekkelsen RV Sales and Rentals of East Montpelier, VT., has been serving the New England RV community. The largest and oldest RV dealership in New England, Mekkelsen RV is a one-stop shop offering everything from sales, service, rentals, parts, and accessories.

Mekkelsen RV Sales and Rentals has more than 200 new and used RVs in stock, with models ranging from entry level pop-up camping trailers to motor coaches, including some of the most trusted names in the RV Industry.  Look for new and used RVs from Dutchmen, Coachmen, Starcraft, R-Pod, Salem, Hurricane, Denali, Wildcat, Surveyor, Ameri-Lite, Cedar Creek, Palomino, Salem, Four Winds, Grand Junction. and more.

Expect the same level of expert personal service and selection whether you’re shopping for your first family pop-up camper, moving up to a new luxury fifth wheel, or looking for value-packed quality, used travel trailer — because this family business got its start from a family camping trip in humble Apache pop-up camper.

Mekkelsen’s RV Sales and Rentals was founded by John and Grace Mekkelsen after a family trip to Maine in a rented pop-up camper, according to an article in Business People Vermont. The family had so much fun, they decided to spread the joy as dealers, starting with four Apache campers on the family car lot, later moving to an old farm outside Montpelier. With the old farmhouse serving as the sales office, the dealership was born.  Since 1985 the company has been under the direction of Bruce Mekkelsen and his sister Connie Mekkelsen Cherrier. Today, RVs of all shapes and sizes cover the farm’s land, along with a bustling service department and parts and accessories store.

While the old farm wouldn’t be recognizable today, the family’s commitment to affordable RV vacations remains strong – so strong that the company rents more RVs than it sells.  While luxury motor coaches are top sellers at many lots, at Mekkelsen’s, trailers of all varieties remain the top choice. With a focus on value and family fun, look for a selection of quality, fifth wheels and travel trailers with flexible floor plans, bunks, and bunkhouses.

Family-forward service doesn’t stop once the sales contract is signed.  Mekkelsen’s large service department is ready to tackle any job from brake repair, electrical systems, winterizing and annual check-ups, and much more. The state-of-the-art, eight-bay, RV service center at Mekkelsen’s is staffed by factory-trained service professionals.  The service center is a factory-authorized warranty station for Catalina, Chaparral, Four-Winds, Dutchmen, Starcraft, Grand Design, Surveyor, R-Pod, Skycat, Nomad, Amerilite, Viking and Wildcat campers.  Mekkelsens also services horse, boat, and cargo trailers.

When traveling in New England, visit the state’s first and largest RV dealer, Mekkelsen’s in Montpellier, to find a vast selection of family-friendly trailers and coaches to call your own for just a week or a lifetime.  Find Mekkelsen’s online at RV USA along with other trusted RV dealers.
