2027 Palomino Real-Lite HS 1803

2027 Palomino Real-Lite HS-1803 Hard-Side Truck Camper

Only 1,981 lbs. Actual Dry Weight | 400W Solar | Lithium Battery | Onboard RV Toilet

The 2027 Palomino Real-Lite HS-1803 is a compact hard-side truck camper for buyers who want real RV comfort without towing a trailer.

This specific camper, stock NP21422, is in stock now at Prosser’s Premium RV Outlet in Sturtevant, Wisconsin, and its MSO shows an actual dry weight of just 1,981 pounds.

That makes the HS-1803 especially attractive for buyers looking for a lighter hard-side camper with a toilet, holding tanks, solar, lithium power, furnace, hot water, refrigerator and microwave.

Hard-Side Comfort Without the Pop-Up Setup

The HS-1803 uses full-height rigid sidewalls, so there is no roof to raise and no fabric sidewall section to set up.

You arrive, level the camper and you're ready to use it.

Advantages include:

• No pop-up roof setup
• Better weather protection
• Quieter interior in wind and rain
• Full standing room immediately
• More traditional RV feel
• Better cold-weather capability than a soft-side camper

Actual Dry Weight: 1,981 Pounds

One of the biggest advantages of this particular camper is its verified weight.

Actual MSO Dry Weight: 1,981 lbs.

Forest River lists the model UVW at approximately 2,000 lbs., but this specific unit comes in slightly lighter.

That matters when matching a truck camper to a pickup, where every pound of payload counts.

Truck payload, axle ratings, tire ratings, bed dimensions and camper center of gravity should always be verified for the specific truck.

Onboard RV Toilet

Unlike many lightweight truck campers, the HS-1803 includes an onboard RV toilet along with separate gray- and black-water holding tanks.

That gives you much greater independence when camping away from developed facilities.

It is especially useful for:

• Boondocking
• Hunting and fishing trips
• Rustic campgrounds
• Long-distance travel
• Overnight stops
• Remote camping

400 Watts of Solar and Lithium Power

The Real-Lite hard-side package includes a strong factory off-grid setup:

• Two 200-watt solar panels — 400 watts total
• 100Ah lithium battery
• Bluetooth solar charge controller
• Electric camper jacks
• 20,000 BTU furnace
• On-demand water heater
• 12V refrigerator
• Microwave
• MaxxAir vent
• LED interior lighting
• Hot and cold outside shower

For buyers who want to spend time away from hookups, that is a very useful amount of factory-installed capability in a camper this size.

Lightweight Construction

Palomino builds the HS-1803 with:

• Fully welded aluminum framing
• High-density block foam insulation
• High-gloss fiberglass exterior
• Alpha Super Flex membrane roof
• Front cap with Line-X windshield protection

The result is a compact hard-side camper that keeps weight relatively low without giving up basic RV amenities.

Dimensions and Capacities

• Actual dry weight: 1,981 lbs. per MSO
• Published UVW: approximately 2,000 lbs.
• Exterior length: 16'5"
• Exterior width: 86"
• Exterior height: 7'11"
• Floor length: 8'2"
• Wheel-well width: 48"
• Center of gravity: 25"
• Fresh water: 21 gallons
• Gray water: 5 gallons
• Black water: 6 gallons
• LP capacity: 20 lbs.

The HS-1803 is designed for certain 1/2-ton pickups with bed lengths from approximately 5'6" to 8', but actual compatibility depends on the specific truck's payload, axle ratings, tires and bed configuration.

Keep Your Hitch Available

One of the biggest advantages of a truck camper is that your living space rides in the pickup bed instead of behind the truck.

That can leave the receiver hitch available for another properly rated trailer.

Depending on your truck and combined ratings, that may allow you to bring:

• A boat
• ATV or UTV trailer
• Utility trailer
• Other recreational equipment

For buyers who want both a camper and the ability to tow their toys, a truck camper can be an excellent solution.
