Owning an RV is an experience but navigating the large world of Travel Trailers, Fifth Wheels, Toy Haulers, Destination Trailers, Motorhomes, Campers, Park Models, and Truck Campers can be a hassle. So which RV is right for you? Here at RVUSA, we look to answer this question every week and look to provide you with the RV of Your Dreams!
In this week’s segment, we feature the Forest River XLR Nitro Toy Hauler. Toy Haulers come in various types such as Fifth Wheel, Travel Trailer, Class A Motorhome and Class C Motorhomes. The difference between a typical Fifth Wheel, Travel Trailer, etc., is the built-in garage specifically designed to haul ATVs, motorcycles, UTVs, and any other sports equipment. Garages will vary in size depending on the Brand & Model of the Toy Hauler but they will typically allow you to store between 2-3 “toys.”
The Forest River XLR Nitro has floorplans for a Fifth Wheel Toy Hauler and a Travel Trailer Toy Hauler with the main difference in weight and size. The Fifth Wheel Toy Haulers are bigger with exterior lengths between 37’ and 42’ and UVW between 10500 and 13000 pounds. The Travel Trailer Toy Haulers are smaller ranging between 29’ and 38’ in length and UVW between 6000 and 10000 pounds. Depending on the specific floor plan, the Fifth Wheel Toy Haulers will have a larger garage and more living space than the Travel Trailer Toy Haulers, however they are heavier and will require a truck to handle that added weight.
After deciding if you want a travel trailer toy hauler or fifth wheel toy hauler, the features are standard on the XLR Nitro. With each toy hauler providing: 102” exterior width, 100-gallon fresh water tank, 5,000-lb cargo tie-downs, LED lighting, and ducted A/C & heat. Different dealers have different prices so check on RVUSA for the best prices on the Forest River XLR Nitro!
