Easy Camping Breakfast Ideas for Your Next RV Trip

We are all about easy here! That’s why we love sharing simple RVing tips, easy camping recipes, and affordable RVing essentials to make your camping trips easy and more enjoyable.

Today, we are talking about our favorite camping breakfast tips as well as some of our favorite breakfast recipes that you can cook either in your camper or over the fire.

Everything You Need to Cook Breakfast in Your Camper

Efficiency is everything on the road, and if you are going to be cooking in your camper, you need a few things to make sure you have an efficient cooking process. RV kitchens are small. When you bring in kitchen items, you want to make sure everything is easy to store and able to be used for multiple purposes! You don’t have the room for one-off specialty items like an omelet flipper or specialty bacon cooker. Those are fun for a sticks and bricks home but not in a camper where you are pressed for space.

All of these kitchen essentials will help you cook the perfect breakfast, along with lunch and dinner too, while making sure you maximize the space you have available in your camper.

Kitchen Essentials

Find everything you need for your RV kitchen

Cast Iron Cookware

First and foremost, you need cast iron cookware any time you are serving up camping meals. For one, cast iron is durable and easy to clean. It can be used to cook absolutely anything, and honestly, food just tastes better when cooked in a cast-iron skillet!

Cast iron may be a little heavy for your RV stove, but it is perfect for cooking over a fire or on a grill outside! You can use a cast iron dutch oven and make some amazing dishes.

Cast iron pans are super easy to clean as well. Just use water and some paper towels and you are good to go! Be sure to never use soap though. You don’t need it, and it will destroy the seasoning of your pan. If anything gets too stuck, just put some water in the pan, boil it, and scrape off whatever is stuck with a wooden spatula.

Having a set of these on hand opens you up to so many more camping breakfast ideas because you have the proper tools. If you want some delicious food and versatile cookware for your camper, pick up some good quality cast iron.

Flat Top Camp Stove

As we have been mentioning, RV kitchens are small! Even if you are living it up in a jumbo Class A, there’s still not a ton of space in the kitchen.

Here’s one of our favorite camping breakfast ideas: take it outside! I mean, you’re camping, so why not cook in the great outdoors?

Having a portable flat top camp stove is perfect for cooking all of your meals. You can whip up a breakfast of bacon, eggs, and sausage with ease and without getting a ton of dishes dirty! If you want to use it for dinner, this is a perfect cooktop for a little fried rice hibachi-style.

Next time you are at a campground, take a look around a few spots. Loads of people are buying these stoves and using them all of the time!

Cowboy Breakfast Skillet

This recipe from Camping for Foodies is one of our favorites!

The Cowboy Breakfast skillet takes all of our favorite things like sausage peppers, onions, potatoes, eggs, and cheese and turns it into a culinary campfire delight!

It’s a one pan meal and the perfect opportunity to put that cast iron skillet to use. Honestly, a lot of the easy camping recipes you are going to see utilize the cast iron cookware we mentioned earlier in this post.

Make-Ahead Breakfast Burritos

This isn’t one you will cook outside or in your cast iron skillet, but these make-ahead breakfast burritos are perfect to toss in the microwave on a busy morning.

You can make these before you even head to the campground, pack them in the freezer, and pop them in the microwave whenever you want a quick and easy breakfast!

If you are ready to recreate this recipe, head over to the Camping for Foodies website and get their full step-by-step printable recipe there.

They also have a ton of other great camping recipes that we highly recommend!

Campfire Breakfast Casserole

We love a good easy casserole around here! Tossing everything in a pan and cooking it all together means less time cooking and more time enjoying your camping trip.

This BBQ Breakfast Scrambler created by My Organized Chaos really hits the spot and is perfect for feeding a crowd when you are out camping.

You are going to need ham, eggs, hashbrowns, cheese, and diced tomato to make this yourself.

It is easy to toss together, cover with some foil, and cook on your grill. You could also probably cook this in a cast iron dutch oven as well.

Make sure you grab the full recipe to make this for your next breakfast.
