Best S’mores Recipes for Old-School Campfire Fun

by | Jul 5, 2018 | RV Recipes | 0 comments

Are you even camping if you don’t pack the essential ingredients to class s’mores? Sure. You can continue making the classic s’mores each time you go camping. But why not take this old school recipe and put your own twists on it? The sky’s the limit with making your own version of the campsite treat!

Of course, there are some super simple add-ins that don’t really require a recipe. Don’t be afraid to add any kind of fresh fruit you want, add a slather of peanut butter, add some caramel or any kind of candy to get real crazy!

1. Campfire S’mores

This recipe takes classic ingredients and throws them in a cast iron pan to take the process out of making s’mores. Just add in the marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate in the pan, let them melt and use more graham crackers to dip out the gooey goodness!

2.Cookie Dough S’mores

Who says cookie dough needs eggs? This recipe adds eggless cookie dough on top of the graham cracker for a simple twist on a regular s’mores! The recipe gives a from scratch dough, but you can definitely use store bought dough which saves a ton of time.

3.S’mores Peanut Butter Cookie Sandwiches

Try setting the graham crackers aside and use peanut butter cookies instead! Again, the recipe gives a from scratch recipe for peanut butter cookies, but you can always use store bought to make camping easier.

4.Lemon Curd S’mores

So maybe you aren’t a huge fan of chocolate, but you still want to join in on the campfire fun. Try lemon curd in place of chocolate.

5.Peanut Butter and Jelly S’mores

Another neat option is to use peanut butter and jelly for s’mores. You’re combining two classics into one, so what could go wrong?

6.Campfire S’mores Banana Boats

Here’s another way you can combine two classic desserts into one. Just split open a banana, add in s’mores ingredients, wrap in foil and put over an open flame. Boom! You’ve got a s’mores banana split.

7.Strawberry and Dark Chocolate Campfire Cones

Classic s’mores can get kind of messy, and a quick way to fix that is to use ice cream cones instead. This way, the kids can get more involved in making their own cone, since you don’t need to get close to the fire.
