{"id":68,"date":"2015-07-01T20:25:30","date_gmt":"2015-07-01T20:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.rvusa.com\/blog\/?p=68"},"modified":"2015-07-01T20:35:57","modified_gmt":"2015-07-01T20:35:57","slug":"rvusa-com-online-for-20-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rvusa.com\/blog\/rvusa-com-online-for-20-years\/","title":{"rendered":"RVUSA.com \u2013 Online for 20 Years!!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVUSA.com<\/span> has been online for 20 years<\/strong>, and I thought it would be fun to take a walk down memory lane from when it was first launched in 1995, to the new Responsive Mobile Website we have now. \u00a0I used the Way Back Machine to pull all our logos to share with you, starting with our first logo:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_1996.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-62675\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_1996.png?w=636\" alt=\"RVUSA.com Logo 1995\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Back then, we had dealers from 16 different states advertising with us.<\/p>\n<p>In 1997, a logo and website refresh was needed as the site continued to grow, and more dealers came on board (<em>left<\/em>). \u00a0Then another quick logo refresh in 2000 was made (<em>right<\/em>) using Flash.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_1997.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-full wp-image-62677 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_1997.png?w=636\" alt=\"RVUSA.com Logo 1997\" \/><\/a>\u00a0 \u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2000.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-62676\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2000.png?w=240&amp;h=170\" alt=\"RVUSA.com Logo 2000\" width=\"240\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As word got out that RVUSA was building websites, we had more and more demand to create websites for dealers across the US. \u00a0I came on board in March 1999 as a website designer. \u00a0With no designated customer service person in place, I pretty quickly became website designer \/ account manager. \u00a0By early 2000, we had dealers from 39 different states advertising with us, and the RVUSA website was growing at a steady pace.<\/p>\n<p>On September 1, 2000, NetSource Technologies, an established website development company, acquired RVUSA. \u00a0Our team doubled in size overnight, and a brand new RVUSA logo, and website design was introduced.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2000nov.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62678 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2000nov.png?w=636\" alt=\"RVUSA.com Logo 2000\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As more and more RV Classified websites came online, our dealers asked for a solution that gave them the ability to enter\/manage their inventory in once place, and then have it sent automatically to the other RV Classified websites they were advertising with. \u00a0My team got to work. \u00a0In September 2001, we sent our first successful file of inventory for 11 dealers to <span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVTrader.com<\/span>. \u00a0We were the first company to set up an inventory export with<span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVTrader.com<\/span>, and have since setup imports and exports for other classified websites, dealer management systems, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MSNBC<\/strong> posted an article in November 2003 about \u201c<em>The RV Life<\/em>\u201c, and <span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVUSA.com<\/span> was included. \u00a0Here\u2019s what they said:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>RV USA (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rvusa.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">http:\/\/www.rvusa.com<\/a>) is among the best organized and most useful RV sites available. The site includes interesting features such as cookbook links (like \u201cThe Four Ingredient Cookbook\u201d) especially selected for the small RV kitchens. The site also features forums for RV-ers to ask questions, and exchange tips and information, and allows members to post classified ads selling RV\u2019s for free. A host of travel information, including campgrounds, places to eat, sights to see, grocery stores, and events around the country, can also be found on the site.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I remember feeling so proud of myself, and my team. \u00a0All the hard work we had put into<span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVUSA.com<\/span> was recognized at a National level, and it was pretty exciting.<\/p>\n<p>The next overhaul of the <span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVUSA.com<\/span> website happened in 2004. \u00a0We changed up the logo \u00a0a little, and added the tag line \u201c<em>The Original Online RV Guide<\/em>\u201c:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2004.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-62679 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2004.png?w=636&amp;h=91\" alt=\"RVUSA.com Logo 2004\" width=\"636\" height=\"91\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The design was kept the same for 5 years, mainly because it worked so well, but in 2009 it was time for a fresh new look for the website and logo. \u00a0We also changed the tag line to \u201c<em>Your Guide to Everything RV<\/em>\u201c:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2009.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62680\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusalogo_2009.png?w=636&amp;h=78\" alt=\"RVUSA.com Logo 2009\" width=\"636\" height=\"78\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This is my personal favorite logo and design\u2026 I love the American flag, stars and stripes feel, etc. \u00a0We\u2019ve used this logo on our lanyard at the RVIA show for at least 5 years, and we always get a fantastic response.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, you just can\u2019t have a website that is not mobile friendly, and Google is doing all they can to deter you from having one. \u00a0In April, they released their new \u201cmobile-friendly\u201d algorithm, started displaying \u201cmobile-friendly\u201d on each listing in their search results, and just yesterday I saw a blog post that they are trying out a new \u201cSlow to Load\u201d alert.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So here we are to our NEW\u00a0Responsive Mobile Website Design, and Logo for 2015:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusadesign_2015.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-62682\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/07\/rvusadesign_2015.jpg?w=636&amp;h=901\" alt=\"Responsive Website Design for RVUSA\" width=\"636\" height=\"901\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The coolest feature we added was <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rvusa.com\/myrvusa-sign-in\" target=\"_blank\">MyRVUSA<\/a>. \u00a0This free tool gives you the ability to save units, searches you perform, etc., and have access to them very quickly. \u00a0If you haven\u2019t checked it out, I\u2019d highly recommend it.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you for taking this walk through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rvusa.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">RVUSA.com<\/a> history with me. \u00a0If you have any questions, please let me know.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cindy Spencer \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft\" title=\"Cindy Spencer\" src=\"https:\/\/cindyatrvusa.files.wordpress.com\/2012\/06\/cindy-lg.jpg?w=150&amp;h=127\" alt=\"Cindy Spencer\" width=\"150\" height=\"127\" \/>Cindy Spencer, an Account Manager at NetSource Media since 2000, works with clients across the US with <span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVUSA.com<\/span>,<span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">TrailersUSA.com<\/span> and <span class=\"skimlinks-unlinked\">RVCanada.com<\/span>.
