Utah is an incredible state that is often overlooked when RVers plan their next destination. In this post, we\u2019ll share our top five reasons why you should plan a trip to Utah.<\/p>\n

From slot canyons<\/a> and sandstone arches to hoodoos and waterfalls, Utah has an incredible amount of beauty to offer, so let\u2019s jump right in!<\/p>\n

1. Stunning National Parks<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Utah’s incredible national parks are probably the best reason to plan an RV trip! Utah has five national parks, commonly referred to as \u201cThe Mighty 5.\u201d We\u2019ll give a quick rundown of each park.<\/p>\n

Arches National Park<\/h3>\n

Home to the densest concentration of natural stone arches in the world, Arches offers landscapes that feel almost otherworldly.<\/p>\n

Delicate Arch is the star of the show and is the most famous arch in the park. Although the line to take a picture with the arch can get pretty long during peak season, it\u2019s well worth the wait. The park’s roads and trails bring you up close to many other spectacular arch formations, like Landscape Arch and Double Arch, as well as my personal favorite, Windows Arch.<\/p>\n

Hiking in Arches National Park<\/a> can fit any level of adventure, and even the shorter trails, like Park Avenue and Balanced Rock, are a great way to experience the park\u2019s dramatic scenery. If you\u2019re up for a more challenging and immersive experience, The Fiery Furnace hike is a guided adventure through labyrinthine sandstone canyons.<\/p>\n

Zion is where you\u2019ll find yourself surrounded by majestic cliffs and canyons that attract adventurers and peace-seekers alike!\u00a0<\/span>This park has plenty to offer everyone, regardless of their preferred hiking level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Riverside Walk is fantastic if you\u2019re bringing your dog along<\/a>, with easy access and stunning river views.\u00a0<\/span>If you\u2019re seeking a thrill, the Angels Landing trail offers unmatched vistas at the summit, though it\u2019s not for the faint of heart!\u00a0<\/span>And if you\u2019re into something a bit more unique, the Narrows offers an unforgettable experience of walking between towering canyon walls, often wading through the river itself.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

💡Pro Tip:<\/strong> Zion\u2019s shuttle system makes it easy to explore different parts of the park without worrying about parking.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bryce Canyon National Park<\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n

Known for its incredible hoodoos (irregular rock columns that seem to glow in the right light) Bryce Canyon is incredible and a can\u2019t-miss park!\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The best times to visit are sunrise and sunset when the orange and red rocks light up spectacularly.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The Navajo Loop and Queen\u2019s Garden trails are popular for immersing yourself in these stunning rock formations.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In winter, snow adds a dramatic contrast to the vivid rocks, and the park\u2019s high altitude makes it a fantastic place for stargazing on clear nights.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Bryce is smaller and more manageable on foot, so it\u2019s easy to see the highlights in just a day or two.<\/span><\/p>\n

Capitol Reef National Park<\/span><\/h3>\n

Often less crowded, Capitol Reef offers cliffs, canyons, domes, and bridges alongside orchards where you can pick fresh fruit in season.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The park\u2019s Scenic Drive provides easy access to major landmarks, but venturing off the main road onto trails like the Hickman Bridge hike offers a close-up view of the park\u2019s striking rock formations and historic markings.\u00a0<\/span>The Fruita area is a reminder of the past, with old settler\u2019s buildings and a working orchard that\u2019s still maintained by the National Park Service.\u00a0<\/span>For history buffs, the petroglyphs carved by the ancient Fremont Culture are fascinating and easily accessible.<\/span><\/p>\n

💡Pro Tip<\/strong>: Don\u2019t forget to stop by the Gifford Homestead<\/a> for a delicious, freshly baked pie!<\/span><\/p>\n

Canyonlands National Park<\/span><\/h3>\n

This massive park is divided into districts, each offering a different type of adventure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Island in the Sky district is the most accessible, with panoramic overlooks along the paved scenic drive and short walks to stunning vistas, like Mesa Arch, a famous sunrise spot.\u00a0<\/span>For the more adventurous, the Needles district offers backcountry hikes through red rock landscapes and ancient rock art.\u00a0<\/span>The remote Maze district is only ideal for seasoned explorers looking for solitude and primitive camping.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Canyonlands\u2019 diverse landscapes are ideal for photography, hiking, and stargazing, especially under its dark, expansive skies. <\/span>This park doesn\u2019t receive as many annual visitors as some of the other Utah national parks, so it\u2019s a great place to go if you want to escape the crowds<\/a> and enjoy more solitude.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
