With average December temperatures in the high 60’s, San Diego is an excellent place for you and your family to spend the holidays. Put your RV to good use by heading to one of these year-round campgrounds that will give you easy access to some of San Diego’s top attractions.<\/p>\n

  1. Campland On The Bay <\/a>– This RV campground has a private beach overlooking Mission Bay. You and your family will love the heated pools, cafe, spas, and the brand new skateboard park. This park offers 568 RV sites, including 26 pull thrus and 405 full hookups.   2. Chula Vista RV Resort<\/a> – Named the “Best RV Resort in SoCal,” this campground is located on the scenic San Diego Bay and has its own 552 slip marina. Amenities include a ladies boutique, picnic and bbq area, swimming pool, laundry facilities and two waterfront restaurants. This Woodall’s 5-star resort has 237 concrete spaces with full hook-ups, privacy landscaping and beautiful bay and marina views.<\/li>\n
  3. San Diego Metro KOA<\/a> – Escape the cold and park your RV at one of San Diego’s most popular resorts and top-rated destination for family fun. The campground has a year-round pool, hot tub, and they’re currently building a brand new pool complex with kids room, workout room and laundry facility. This pet-friendly campground also has a 7000 sq. foot dog park called Kamp K9 so you can bring your whole family along!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    While the beach can be a little chilly this time of year, San Diego has plenty of fun, family-friendly attractions that will keep you entertained for weeks.     1. San Diego Zoo<\/a> – Voted the Travelers’ Choice #1 Zoo in the world, this destination is a no-brainer. Adults and kids alike will love exploring and interacting with all the magnificent animals, from leopards and arctic foxes, to penguins and polar bears. They also have a special “Jungle Bells” exhibit from now through January 2nd, featuring lights, festive foods and special holiday performances.<\/li>\n
    2. SeaWorld San Diego<\/a> – If you haven’t had your fill of animals from the zoo, be sure to check out the amazing performances at SeaWorld San Diego. This exciting theme park has killer whales, sea otters, and thrilling roller coasters and rides. With attractions for all ages, this park is a great way to spend a day-trip outside your RV campground. Also, don’t miss the special shows at the Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer celebration from now until January 1st.<\/li>\n

      Breakfast:<\/strong> Kono’s Cafe<\/a> – This laid-back cafe has been serving high quality breakfast and lunch since 1991. Open 7 days-a-week, this delicious restaurant serves affordable breakfast favorites that the whole family will enjoy.<\/p>\n

      Brunch:<\/strong> The Patio on Lamont<\/a> – This beachside restaurant is a local favorite. They offer a delicious brunch and dinner menu, with everything from french toast to braised pork shank or short rib ravioli. They also have a delicious dessert menu, with unique options like pumpkin bread pudding and chocolate pistachio cake.<\/p>\n

      Lunch:<\/strong> Iron Pig Alehouse<\/a> – If you like BBQ, this is the place for you. From the famous sliced brisket to the ribs and mac n’ cheese, nothing on this menu will disappoint. Plus, you can wash it all down with one of their unique beer selections, that even non-beer-lovers praise.<\/p>\n

      Dinner:<\/strong> Caffe Bella Italia<\/a> – This half sports bar\/half classic Italian restaurant is the best of both worlds. Everything at Caffe Bella is made from fresh ingredients, and they use local organic produce, wild seafood, and hormone-free meat. Dine in the elegant dining room or indoor heated patio and enjoy genuine Italian fare, including ravioli, gnocchi, and of course, pizza. Happy hour is daily from 5-6.<\/p>\n
