Now that Autumn has officially started, we tend to get a little pumpkin-obsessed. But, let’s not forget about Fall’s other favorite food, apples. Apples are the cornerstone for some of America’s favorite treats – apple cider, apple pie, caramel apples, etc. To make sure you get you satisfy your apple cravings this season, here are our Best Places for Apple Picking.

  1. Stribling Orchard in Markham, Virginia – The Stribling Orchard is a family-owned business that has been growing apples and fruit for nearly 200 years. Guests can come pick their own apples or choose from already picked varieties. They also have large pumpkins and pie pumpkins available for purchase. The orchard has approximately 30 acres of apple trees and 15 acres of peach trees. After a fun day of picking, you can stop inside their bakery to purchase homemade jams, apple butter, apple cider, and fresh breads and pies. The Stribling Orchard is just a 20-minute drive from Poe’s Southfork Campground, which offers affordable full hook up sites for your RV. Virginia is beautiful this time of year, and your family will have a blast at this scenic destination.Stribling_Orchard_-_Scenic_Disc_255
  2. Sky Top Orchard in Flat Rock, North Carolina – Sky Top Orchard is more than your average u-pick destination. Surrounded by mountain views, orchard ponds, and farm animals, you and your family can enjoy a great day of apple picking, hayrides, pumpkin picking and more. You’ll especially want to make time to buy some freshly-made apple cider doughnuts and apple cider. This beautiful orchard is open seven days a week from 9am-6pm and admission is always free. As you plan your trip to Sky Top Orchard, make reservations to stay at the Orchard Lake Campground in Saluda, NC, approximately a 30-minute drive from the orchard. This RV Campground offers RV and Pop-up sites, including electric, water & sewer hook-ups and fire rings.Welcome_to_Sky_Top_Orchard

This farm has a 40-year history of growing top-quality and environmentally sustainable fruit. Mt. View is open 7 days a week, and pickers have a variety of apples to choose from this time of year, including honeycrisp, galas, mcintosh, dahlias, and more.
