to visit the State of Florida's Official Website |
Plan your best trip ever, exploring colorful destinations from the natural wonders of the Everglades and pristine white sand beaches to the excitement and drama of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. The Sunshine State teems with places to go, things to do – and in such vast variety that nobody’s passion is denied!
If you were to walk one mile of Florida beach every day, it would take you longer than two-and-a-half years to get around the whole state. Whether you're interested in birding, shelling, surfing, treasure hunting,
people watching, snorkeling, history or romance, Florida has a beach to suit
you. Some of the more well-known beaches (frequently listed in top-ten lists) are Fort De Soto Park's North Beach near St. Petersburg, St. Joseph Peninsula State Park off Port St. Joe, and Caladesi Island State Park in the Gulf.
Florida is the boating and fishing capital of the world. With both freshwater and saltwater fishing opportunities to be found (its geography offers access to the Gulf Stream, reefs, wrecks, estuaries, bays,
inlets, rivers, canals, lakes, ponds and natural springs), you are sure to enjoy your boating and angling vacation in the Sunshine State.
Many of the best dive and snorkeling sites are within a few short hours drive from just about
anywhere in the state - you could dive from spots at the top of the Panhandle to the bottom of the Florida Keys – and every place in between! Or discover Florida’s hidden splendors and escape in true solitude amidst landscapes of great beauty and diversity by exploring the numerous natural parks and conservation areas - enjoy birding and wildlife, natural freshwater springs, surfing, camping and more.
Finally, no trip to Florida would be complete without visiting at least one of the many theme parks, resorts, water parks or other well-loved attractions. You can't think of Florida without thinking of Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, but don't miss Busch Gardens in Tampa, SeaWorld and Wet 'n Wild in Orlando, or Kennedy Space Center on Merritt Island.
