If I hired someone to install it for me, would a marina or boat store be able to lay the carpet? The closest RV place is about an hour away but I live around some lakes with lots of boat dealers and marinas. I would think a good boat upholstery company or boat repair store would be able to put in new carpet.

Hi Linda, I would ask if they have, and if so, ask if you can have the names and if it would be OK to call and speak to the person. Then I would ask if they have done any large boats. And then ask the same questions .

Carpet or hard surface material is your first choice you have to make and that is dependent on how you intend to use the unit. If you are real campers and like state parks or campgrounds without wall to wall asphalt then hard surface is your choice. If you just want to go to destination RV resorts and live in the unit, carpets are OK. Most units are at some point refloored. It should not effect your resale although it might effect the number of people who would find it a tractive and meeting their needs. The important thing is it needs to be done neatly and properly installed.
