I have not yet started the RV lifestyle yet, but have a question,,, I see signs where propane tanks are not allowed in tunnels, etc. and am wondering if they are refering to the tanks on the front of a travel trailer or do they refer to something else?

Not to worry. The restriction is to commerical propane carriers. The only tunnel or detour for RVers, it seems, is the Baltimore interstate tunnel. All others I know of accept RVs with propane tanks with out restriction.

I think a few states require our tanks to be turned off while in transit but that is probably a good idea anyhow.

A little correction is in order. Although most tunnels in the USA allow campers with propane, there are a few who don't. Tunnels into New York City do not allow it and on the George Washington bridge, you must use the upper roadway. It's always a good idea to check first, it saves a lot of headaches later.
